Dr Thao Hannaford
(Optometrist)
Thao graduated with honours in her Bachelor of Optometry degree at the University of New South Wales. She also has a Master of Optometry, Graduate Certificate in Arts and Bachelor of Arts degree. Thao has an interest in sports and children’s vision. She is involved in the supervision of 4th and 5th year optometry students in their clinical placement at the practice.
As a former visiting clinical supervisor to the School of Optometry and Vision Science at UNSW Thao taught at the 3rd and 4th year optometry clinics. She is a member of Optometry Australia, Australasian College of Behavioural Optometrists and Cornea and Contact Lens Society of Australia. She is a research candidate at Aston University UK.
Thao has been awarded as a Paul Harris fellow and is recognised by the Australian government for her aid work in Mongolia and Nepal. She is also the cofounder and director of the Academy of Advanced Ophthalmic Optics, a company specialising in education and professional development of practitioners in the ophthalmic industry. Thao was a Business Person of the Year finalist in the Southern Highlands Local Business Awards 2021.


Dr Grant Hannaford
Grant is a qualified optical dispenser and lens designer. He graduated with honours in a Bachelor of Arts degree and Bachelor of Science degree with a major in physics and pure mathematics from the University of New England. Grant holds a qualification in spectacle lens design with honours from the UK under the tutelage of Professor Mo Jalie and is the first and only spectacle lens designer in Australia. He has an interest in research and photonics.
Grant is a Fellow of the Association of British Dispensing Opticians and ADOA. He is also a lecturer at the School of Optometry and Vision Science UNSW. He is the past Chairman of the NSW Optical Dispensers Education Trust and the current Vice President of ADOA (NSW).
Since 2006 Grant has been the director of the Rotary Eye Projects in Nepal, Mongolia and helped implement the establishment of an ophthalmic facility in Ulaangom, Mongolia and works closely with Reiyukai Eye Hospital in Banepa, Nepal. He also consults for various international education projects providing resources for best practice dispensing models. Grant is a regular guest lecturer for Optometry Australia SA Blue Sky Congress, QLD Australian Vision Convention (AVC), NSW Super Sunday and Ski Conference.

Dr Anisah Kibria
(Optometrist)
Anisah is a graduate from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Vision Science and Master of Clinical Optometry. She is kind and dedicated optometrist who is committed to providing thorough, patient-centred eye care. With a particular interest in contact lenses and the management of diabetes-related eye conditions, Anisah is focused on delivering personalised solutions that support both clear vision and long-term eye health.

Dr Jeremy Tran
(Optometrist)
Jeremy completed his Bachelor of Vision Science and Master of Clinical Optometry at the University of New South Wales. He has a strong clinical interest in ocular pathology, myopia control, and contact lenses, with a particular focus on delivering thorough, evidence-based care across all stages of eye health.
Jeremy is committed to building long-term relationships with his patients and takes pride in creating a practice environment where concerns are addressed with clarity and reassurance. He believes that clear communication and patient education are key to achieving the best outcomes and strives to help every patient gain a deeper understanding of their eye health and overall ocular status.
Outside the practice, Jeremy enjoys weightlifting, exploring new food spots, hiking, and keeping his car and home meticulously clean. He values discipline, balance, and organisation — qualities that naturally carry through into his clinical practice and patient care.

Dr Phillip Tran
(Optometrist)
Phillip believes eye care should be thorough, approachable, and never rushed. He takes pride in making patients feel comfortable and confident in their eye health, whether it’s a child’s first eye exam or ongoing care for chronic conditions.
Outside the practice, you’ll usually find Phillip with a fishing rod in hand along a waterway, cooped up inside a tent, or folded over the bonnet of his car – proof that patience, precision, and problem-solving don’t stop at the clinic door.

Ivy Robinson-Turnnidge
Ivy is a trainee optical dispenser due to complete her qualification this year. She is developing her expertise in the optical industry while delivering attentive, patient-focused care. Ivy approaches every task she takes on with organisation, clear communication, and a solutions-oriented mindset. She brings a warm approach to her role, ensuring each patient feels confident and well cared for. Ivy loves working with people of all ages and is happy to be helping the Southern Highlands Community.

Ebony Dark
Outside of work, Ebony dedicates her spare time to equestrian pursuits and enjoy being out and about with her horses. She also cherish spending quality time with her young family, balancing her professional commitment with the passions and people in her life.
